Welcome

I’m so glad you decided to drop in. I’ve created  this website as a means of providing my writing projects, and hopefully entering into a conversation with the culture about faith and politics.  Wise Jargon Publishing provides a hub to a small network of other websites I've created for my various writing projects.  I hope you'll "kick the tires" and let me know what you think.  If nothing else, I encourage you to go to the registration page for my newsletter, Conversations with the Culture, and sign up to receive my monthly newsletter.  Thanks, and God bless!

To accomplish our mission and implement our corporate strategy, we will provide insightful accessories, such as apparel, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, books and similar items. We don’t just deliver a message. We communicate ideas.

Over time, we will seek to build a community of like minded individuals who also seek to have conversations with the context of our culture and rebuild the foundations of our nation as a grass roots movement. As we develop and grow, we will seek out and add blogs, news, and other informational content to our web site. We will also enter into strategic partnerships that compliment our vision and mission statement.

Brotherhood of the Scroll begins in 605 BC, when Jeremiah delivered a prophesy that Jerusalem would be carried into Babylonian captivity for 70 years. In that same year, Babylon defeated Egypt at the Battle of Carchemish, Nebuchadnezzar became King of Babylon, and within a year, carried the first of three groups of Jews into exile, including the prophet Daniel. Just as the United States and the Soviet Union were Cold War enemies in the Twentieth Century, Babylon and Egypt vied for world Domination circa 600 BC is technology.  Brotherhood of the Scroll is a Tom Clancy novel set in Bible times that will bring the Old Testament alive.

The Brotherhood of the Scroll

In his book, The Brotherhood of the Scroll, Author David Lantz retells the story of the biblical Daniel (and the lion's den,) Nebuchadnezzar (king of Babylon,) and of Jeremiah the prophet. His fast paced novel goes to and from battles, secret discussions, and assassinations; trying to fill in what might have happened in the middle east thousands of years ago. I was kept in suspense as I read through the book while Mr. Lantz brought me into the Egyptian, Jewish, and Babylonian royal courts, as Babylon marches to takeover the known world. And just when you think that you know who is good and who is bad, the plot twists.

As a 16 year old, I can say that everyone from teens and up will enjoy this book. And even those who are not familiar with the Bible and its Old Testament history and prophecies will find the mystery, war, love, and conflict (all mixed together and conflicting!) to be captivating.

The Brotherhood of the Scroll

ORDER The Brotherhood of the Scroll

The Brotherhood of the Scroll is an historical novel.  Yes, there's fiction in the book.  But, there's a lot of factual history and bible references as well. This study guide answers the question "Where do I find that in the Bible?  What was the author thinking?  What was the historical context of those circumstances?" Each chapter has a set of discussion questions, making this an excellent resource for a group bible study of both the novel and the Exilic period of Israel's history.
Each lesson contains the following seven sections:

  • The Historical Context
  • What Was The Author Thinking?
  • Key learning Objective
  • Novel Excerpt
  • Scripture Reference
  • Discussion Questions
  • Call to Action

If you've ever been in a small group, then you've had to answer the most important question every small group faces:  When & where do we meet?  In FINDING COMMUNITY, we present a clear alternative:  Let's meet online.  Taking the concept of small group ministry, we apply it to the environment of an online community.  Such a virtual community can be used for anything from "social networking" to learning about the Bible

Finding Community: Creating Connections on the Frontier of Online Ministry

If you are serious about reaching this generation for God, Finding Community is a must read. David Lantz skillfully instructs how to use the "iron of the culture" to accomplish the mission of the Church. I highly recommend it.

Across this nation, American citizens – those who have been naturalized having come here legally, as well as those born here – are concerned about the issue of illegal immigration.  This book looks at three key issues:

    • An undermining of the integrity of our electoral.

    • The use of identity theft and other forms of deceit to steal from legitimate legal Americans.

    • The potential for collusion between criminal, foreign and domestic political elements.

"Point Counter Point: Illegal Aliens & The American Way of Life hits
home with humor and sobers with reality.  Lantz captures readers with
their own recollections of what really goes on in Washington, DC with the
great task this nation faces as a civilization.

Technology is changing rapidly, and with this change, new ways of doing business are constantly presenting themselves. Most small-to-medium size businesses don't have the personnel to evaluate their needs and lay out a plan for purchasing technology that will integrate with their business plan.  If your idea of buying technology is to purchase plastic connected by wires to do what you've always done, you'll fall victim to one of the Three Technology Traps: To learn about these traps and how to avoid them, be sure to check out this book.

"Buying Technology is aimed at small businesses that are seeking to use technology to become more efficient and productive. The author presents easy-to-follow questions aimed at isolating the key factors shaping a decision. The principles are general and will outlive whatever technology is in vogue. "

"David Lantz tells it like it is. If you don't want the truth, don't read it; however, if you're really serious about buying the right technology for the right reasons, then you have to read: Buying Technology -- Understanding What You Need and Why You Need It."
